Ricardo is the founder and Managing Partner of Light Wave Capital. He served as CEO of Nova, a fast growing fiber company in Brazil, after raising LWC I, Light Wave Capital's first investment vehicle. After restructuring a mid-market Brazilian firm and implementing solid result proven cash flow generation measures on it (Nova's EBITDA doubled during LWC's three year holding period), Ricardo is managing LWC II.
His experience comprises M&A, operations, and investment analysis skills acquired in private equity, IB, consulting, and telecom functions. Ricardo worked for Oi (one of the largest Brazilian telcos), Banco Brasil Plural, Alvarez & Marsal, and Cartesian Capital Group. His diverse background has been shaped by corporate project management roles, turnaround consulting assignments, and fundraising and deal making experiences in the buy side.
Ricardo graduated from Walt Whitman High School (Bethesda, MD – USA). He is a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro; a Master of Science (lato sensu) in Telecommunications Systems from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where he graduated as valedictorian; and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he was a merit-based scholarship recipient.
